OUR PRIVACY POLICY

HARBURG21 is a community group based Hamburg-Harburg/Germany, and run by volunteers. It is a not-for-profit organization without any intention to sell goods or services.

HARBURG21 is committed to protecting your personal data and respecting your privacy.  This privacy policy (together with the terms of use of our website) sets out the type of information we collect, what we use it for and the rights that you have in relation to this information.

The legal basis for processing personal data of users is Article 6 (1) point e of the GDPR in conjunction with Section 3 of the new BDSG.

The following data privacy information will give you an overview of how we record and process your data.

We collect data when you ...

Data Analysis
For statistical purposes HARBURG21 uses Matomo (formerly Piwik) on this website. Matomo is an open source web analysis tool.

Matomo does use cookies for data tracking. Cookies are text files that are saved on your computer. Some are automatically deleted on ending your internet session, others need to be actively deleted by yourself.

Cookies enable the HARBURG21 to analyse how our website is used. The information provided by the cookie is transferred to a Matomo Server in Germany, and saved there, to enable us to analyse user behaviour.

Your IP address will be immediately anonymised; users are thus anonymous. The information generated by the cookie regarding how you use the website will not be passed on to third parties.

HARBURG21 regards this analysis as an integral part of its online service. This information helps us consistently improve the website and gear it to your needs. You can use your browser settings to disable cookies. This might, however, mean that you are not able to use all of the website’s functions.

If you object to the data generated by your visit to the website being saved and analysed, you can object to the saving and utilisation of data with one click. This generates a deactivation cookie in your browser, and Matomo will not record any data relating to your session. (Please note that if you delete cookies you will also delete the deactivation cookie, which you will then have to reactivate for your next visit.)

Changes to this policy
We may change our privacy policy to match legal requirements so please check back periodically.
